Chicken and Waffles

Chicken and Waffles

Celebrate National Waffle Week with these boozy Chicken and Waffle shots!

Ingredients

Old Forester 1897

Kentucky- Sharp at first, but softens quickly, with hints of oak, sweet corn and rye grain character. Spicy, with soft vanilla and light orange notes. It ends with a kick of heat, but it would be disappointing if it didn't.

Heavy Whipping Cream

Popcorn Chicken Nugget

Maple Syrup

Brown Food Coloring

Gelatin

Pancake Flavoring

How it’s made…

Here is what we did

  1. Bloom gelatin and stir

  2. Heat 1 cup  heavy whipping cream over medium heat

  3. Add 2 tbsp maple syrup and 3 drops of pancake flavoring, stirring thoroughly

  4. Add 1-2 drops of brown food coloring, stir

  5. Take off the heat and add 1/2 cup of Old Forester 1897 Bottled in Bond and stir

  6. Spray non stick on the mold and blot off excess non stick spray

  7. Pour mixture into mold, removing any air bubbles by poking with a toothpick

  8. Refrigerate for 3 to 4 hours

  9. Carefully remove from mold

  10. Top with your choice of popcorn chicken and maple syrup and enjoy!

There’s no sense sitting around waiting for the gelatin to get firm.
Make yourself a cocktail while you wait for the gelatin to sit.
