Sham-ROCKS

Sham-ROCKS

In honor of our favorite radio personalities, we switched up the rock in rock ‘n roll with these boozy wobble shots inspired by music, St. Patrick’s Day, and the minty goodness of a Shamrock Shake. These were made for the St.Patrick’s Day Extravaganza Event with the Carla Marie & Anthony Show. If you are not already familiar with the show, definitely check it out on Twitch.

Gelatin

How it’s made…

Here is what we did

This is a two-layer wobble shot with a large cream layer on top and a thin minty green layer on the bottom. The order in which you will want to make the layers will be dependent on the mold that you plan to use. We used pour-in silicone molds so so we started with the cream layer.

For the cream layer:

Bloom 1 tablespoon of gelatin with 3 tablespoons of water in a small bowl.

Pour 1/3 cup Irish Cream into a microwave-safe bowl and microwave for 33 seconds.

Add the bloomed gelatin into the Irish Cream and stir slowly until all of the gelatin is dissolved.

Add 1 oz of Slane Irish Whiskey

Stir in 2/3 cup Heavy Cream

Pour into your mold leaving room for the thin mint layer to be added later.

Allow this layer to set for a minimum of 3 hours.

For the green layer:

Bloom 1/2 tablespoon of gelatin with 1.5 tablespoons of water in a small bowl.

Take a knife and gentle score the area of the cream layer where you will be adding the green layer. This will help the two layers attach to each other.

Heat 1 cup of whole milk on the stovetop until steam appears in the pan but before it comes to a boil.

Remove from heat and stir in your bloomed gelatin until it is completely dissolved.

Add 1/2 ounce of Creme de Menthe. Be very careful not to add too much as the minty is very strong.

Stir in green food coloring until you achieve the desired shade of green.

Mix well and pour into your mold.

Allow this layer to set for a minimum of 3 hours.

There’s no sense sitting around waiting for the gelatin to get firm.
Make yourself a cocktail while you wait for the gelatin to sit.
